The building is noteworthy for its seamless fusion of Hindu and central Asian architectural designs.

Within the fort is the Sheesh Mahal, a remarkable building with mirrored walls that shimmer like a dream when lit by a match.

For your midday meal, savour the local delicacy of kachori. Kachoris are fried bread filled with vegetables and lentils and are a popular snack in northern India. If you prefer sweets, you can try mawa kachori – a deep-fried kachori stuffed with dried fruit and mawa (milk solids) and coated in sugar syrup.
