Jaisalmer Dessert Festival, Rajasthan

The Jaisalmer Desert Festival occurs every year in February in the lovely city of Jaisalmer. Also known as Maru Mahotsav Jaisalmer, it takes place during the Hindu month of Magh (February), specifically three days before the full moon. The festival is celebrated on the stunning Thar Desert dunes located in Sam (42 kilometres from Jaisalmer).
Jaisalmer Festival 2024 offers a complete display of folk music, dances and traditions amidst the sandy dunes. It showcases the cultural heritage of Rajasthan. The festival aims to attract a global audience by presenting vibrant colours, beautiful melodies and energetic dances in the heart of Thar Desert. After shedding off your winter gear, immerse yourself in Jaisalmer’s folk fusion that is sure to capture the attention of several travelers. It’s now your turn to explore the exciting daylong extravaganza that lasts for about three days in the midst of historical forts, ancient havelis, Jain temples, majestic palaces, and indigenous culture. Namaste! Welcome to India. You will be received at the airport by our representative and given a traditional welcome over there, followed by transfer to the Hotel.
Delhi is a lively and bustling city, packed with historic landmarks, museums, galleries, shops, and countless markets. It offers numerous options for sightseeing, activities, and dining.
After breakfast, you will tour New Delhi and see the famous Qutub Minar and Humayun's Tomb. Then, you will take a drive around colonial Delhi, which includes visiting India Gate, the majestic President's Palace, and the Indian Parliament.
In the afternoon visit Old Delhi. Begin with a trip to the renowned Jama Mosque from the 17th century. Take a brief walk through the colorful, narrow streets of the old city.
The Old Delhi section of the tour will guide you through the narrow and ancient streets of medieval Delhi, lined with old buildings and bustling with thousands of people going about their daily business. Each lane in this area serves as a marketplace for various commodities, such as spices, bikes, cameras, kitchenware, vegetables, clothes, shoes, books, and more.
After breakfast transfer to the airport to connect flight to Udaipur
Welcome to Udaipur. This city of lakes is often called the 'Venice of the East', and it lies near beautiful azure water lakes and is bordered by luscious green hills of Aravallis. Once you arrive, you can check in to your hotel.
In the afternoon we will go on a guided heritage walk through the old city to explore the bustling and colorful bazaars, experience the lively arts scene, marvel at the charming old-world feel of the heritage hotels, indulge in some tempting shopping, and enjoy delicious snacks.
We can have dinner in one of the many spectacular roof top restaurants around the lake.
Overnight in Udaipur.
After breakfast, proceed on a sightseeing tour of Udaipur. Starting with the visit of Maharana's City Palace, an imposing edifice of granite and marble.
Drive around Fatehsagar Lake, built by Maharana Fateh Singh in 1754 AD. Visit Jagdish Temple, the largest and the most venerated temple of Udaipur. Further on, continue to Garden of Maidens – ‘Sahelion-Ki- Bari’, consisting of an ornamental pool with delicately carved ‘chhatries’ (umbrellas) of black and white marble and soft stone. In the evening, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola, taking in the brilliant scenery of hills, temples and palaces surrounding it. After a memorable day of sightseeing, return to your hotel and spend the night.

Depart for Jodhpur after breakfast and stop by the stunning Jain Temples located in Ranakpur on the way to Udaipur. These temples were constructed in the 15th century and are located in the charming Aravali Valley. The environment surrounding it is peaceful and picturesque. Ranakpur also has gorgeous sculptures and impressive structures. There are 1444 columns in the temple and none of them are alike. The surroundings are peaceful and scenic. The temple houses 1444 pillars, each unique. Visit the Surya Temple and other Jain Temples before heading to Jodhpur. Dinner and stay in Udaipur.

Morning after breakfast visit the Meharangarh Fort situated on a low sandstone Hill, including Moti-Mahal and Phool Mahal. Also visit Jaswant Thada, an imposing Marble Memoriam built in 1899.
Afternoon stroll in the old market of Jodhpur to enjoy the day to day life of the local people in this colorful bazaar with the fragrance of exotic spices.
Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Morning after breakfast drive to Jaisalmer. Stop for a Photo Stop at Gadisar Lake before checking in to your hotel.
Overnight in Jaisalmer.
3 days of nonstop cultural and music marathon filled with lots of music and fun at different spots in Jaisalmer city, on the fort, on the great sand dunes of Sam and Khuri. It is going to be a cultural extravaganza like no other in the world.
After taking breakfast transfer to the airport to connect flight to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, farewell dinner at any local restaurant. No accommodation in Delhi. After dinner, transfer to international airport to board the flight back home.
Fly back HOME.
If your flight is on next day, we will book a hotel for you in Delhi. You can also add a Golden Triangle extension programme at the end which will take 3 more days and cover Agra (Tajmahal) and Jaipur, before you take your flight back home from Delhi.
